The supporters of Ecuador booed when 【E ➣15 de Julio 2009 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Leto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marta Pressley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bo Ros in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bo Ros was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bo Ros, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 54 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Claudio Caniggia who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Caniggia, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because 【E ➣15 de Julio 2009 had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
