The corner led Athletis PR's Silvério Fernandez to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 15th minute, Pavlo Oschypko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvério Fernandez in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Caio Raminhos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wiliam Prado. Athletis PR's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 38th minute of play forced Athletis PR's goalkeeper Wiliam Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genílson Leme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. The supporters of Athletis PR booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball.

A collision led to Athletis PR getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Ciro Vargas hit a great ball. With a little luck, Athletis PR's Wiliam Prado got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line.
