In the 15th minute Garrett Brock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hal Mackey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hal Mackey having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Stevie Goddard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Western Springs FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Emmanuel Corley came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jonathan Ferrant could save by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Colby Saucedo made in the 54th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Monroe Munoz. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Costa during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Western Springs FC's Colby Saucedo got a free kick in the 59th minute. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry McDonald in the 62nd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Kerry McDonald notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 67 played minutes Western Springs FC got a freekick which was hit by Colby Saucedo. Hal Mackey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 68th minute. In the 73rdth minute of the game Kerry McDonald who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry McDonald in the 74th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry McDonald in the 86th minute of the match. Western Springs FC's Hal Mackey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Western Springs FC from getting a goal against them. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hal Mackey having to interfere. Colby Saucedo made in the 93rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Lionel Egan however managed to control. Kerry McDonald took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Western Springs FC.
