In the 9th match minute, Huế was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Placido Paul to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute Placido Paul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Huế's Lê Binh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Villa in the 17th minute of play. Trần Nghiêm-Minh was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 20 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute there was a penalty for Honduras. Edmundo Espiga stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lê Binh. 0-1. Honduras's attentive Christian Sancho managed to snatch the ball when Nguyễn Lien made a throw-in in the 26th minute of the game. The supporters of Honduras booed when Huế was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Bien didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belchior Caetano's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Belchior Caetano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Huế getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Belchior Caetano hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Huế's zone, Edmundo Espiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Binh came out of the goal and Edmundo Espiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmundo Espiga scored 0-2 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lê Binh, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Placido Paul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Huế's Placido Paul. But to his dismay, Placido Paul quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 60 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Lien threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Luca Espinar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 61 minutes, Nguyễn Bien mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Huế and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lê Binh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Triệu Anh Hung charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Triệu Anh Hung the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Triệu Anh Hung kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Lê Binh was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Sebastian Villa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sebastian Villa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Nguyễn Lien hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Lê Binh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Lien made in the 82nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Nguyễn Bien immediately put the ball in play. In the 84th minute, Triệu Anh Hung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Lien kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Ivan Navarro hit a great ball. Honduras played a much better game than Huế and deserved their victory. The Huế players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
