The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 3 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Ladislao Mazurkiewicz sped through PATO BRANCO FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tiaguinho Pirani. When Charles Sena fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PATO BRANCO FC's protests and gave Charles Sena a yellow card for diving instead. The long shot by Leopoldo Sanches in the 8th minute really tested Tiaguinho Pirani's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Ladislao Mazurkiewicz could shoot a difficult shot in the 12th minute, which Tiaguinho Pirani however easily saved by the left post. In the 14th minute Charles Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluigi Donnarumma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led PATO BRANCO FC's Matheus Perez to fire away a dangerous shot which Gianluigi Donnarumma despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Flávio Fonseca got a free kick in the 23rd minute. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. João Carlos Gaspar hit a great ball. Otávio de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Matheus Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluigi Donnarumma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tiaguinho Pirani. The goal made the score 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matheus Perez made a kick off. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiaguinho Pirani. Tiaguinho Pirani dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tiaguinho Pirani. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Tiaguinho Pirani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ladislao Mazurkiewicz went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the PATO BRANCO FC defense, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tiaguinho Pirani. The PATO BRANCO FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiaguinho Pirani should have stopped the shot. 70 minutes into the match, PATO BRANCO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Mazurkiewicz came free, but Tiaguinho Pirani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PATO BRANCO FC's Alfredo Viana shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 72nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gianluigi Donnarumma but with some difficulty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ladislao Mazurkiewicz in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiaguinho Pirani saved PATO BRANCO FC from getting behind. Giovanni Soeiro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 76 minutes into the match. Dênis Rosado hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Flávio Fonseca. Décio Mandrak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Tiaguinho Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Carlos Gaspar scored 10-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tiaguinho Pirani, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Alfredo Viana fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PATO BRANCO FC's protests and gave Alfredo Viana a yellow card for diving instead. Alfredo Viana hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Otávio de Brito hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When the referee ended the match the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
