When Mauro Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Castanheiro SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Sarmento couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Marcelo Eger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iulian Bucurescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Júnior Alagoano hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Mihai Odobescu kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After 22 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho Seco. Doni Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alin Agud, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 26thth minute of the game Marcelo Eger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Iulian Bucurescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcelo Eger who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Iulian Bucurescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Eger got free with Iulian Bucurescu in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 34 played minutes FC UNIREA Alba Iulia got a freekick which was hit by Tudor Bărbânță. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Eger in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iulian Bucurescu saved FC UNIREA Alba Iulia from getting behind. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Iulian Bucurescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save FC UNIREA Alba Iulia from getting a goal against them.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tudor Bărbânță made a kick off. Iulian Bucurescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Eger in the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's zone, Marcelo Eger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iulian Bucurescu came out of the goal and Marcelo Eger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Eger in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iulian Bucurescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Doni Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Câmpeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute Marcelo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iulian Bucurescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ronaldo Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doni Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tudor Bărbânță, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Cristian Casian seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cristian Casian the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cristian Casian had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 72nd minute, one of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC UNIREA Alba Iulia. In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Castanheiro SC. Mauro Sarmento stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Iulian Bucurescu. 4-0. In the 78th minute Ronaldo Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iulian Bucurescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Castanheiro SC's Marcelo Eger in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalie prevented a goal. Alin Agud charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 92 played minutes FC UNIREA Alba Iulia got a freekick which was hit by Alin Agud. 97 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Eger came free, but Iulian Bucurescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Castanheiro SC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
