After a rather tough play, EDI MZB's Flavinho Donato got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 16th minute, Bola Forte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcinho Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belmiro Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcinho Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evandro Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Bola Forte could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Tarcisio Gerber however easily saved by the left post. 21 minutes into the game, Mamutes EC's Bola Forte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tarcisio Gerber made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Mamutes EC were furious when Carlos Augusto de Lima was red carded, 25 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mamutes EC! Mamutes EC:s Marcinho Fonseca showed great skill when he stopped Telmo Bueno:s penalty. Tarcisio Gerber made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bola Forte in the 28th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Almir Damião kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tarcisio Gerber. That made the score 3-1 in the 31 minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Evandro Maia came free, but Marcinho Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rubinho Costa's late challenge caught a Mamutes EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubinho Costa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to EDI MZB getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Rubinho Costa hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, David Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Almir Damião made a kick off. David Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tarcisio Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Robinho Oliveira came free, but Tarcisio Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, David Lima ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tarcisio Gerber was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. 63 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Belmiro Sanches came free, but Marcinho Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Mamutes EC's David Lima nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Telmo Bueno was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 72 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in EDI MZB fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 71st minute. Penalty! Tarcisio Gerber had in the 73rdth minute some difficulties stopping Dé Lira's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. David Lima's late challenge caught a EDI MZB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Lima helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of EDI MZB booed when Mamutes EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Robinho Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute Bola Forte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcisio Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. EDI MZB's Tarcisio Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Almir Damião in the 82nd minute of play.
