Evaristo Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Maia in the 6th minute of play. Luciano Batista struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Tarcisio Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Floripa Lions FSCMZ. In the 8th minute, Natã Rossi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Floripa Lions FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Tarcisio Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luiz Proença in the 13th minute of the match. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's André Luiz Proença got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evandro Maia took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Evaristo Siqueira. Evaristo Siqueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 32 minutes into the game, Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Luciano Batista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tarcisio Gerber made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 39 minutes into the game, Luciano Batista cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Tarcisio Gerber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 43rd minute, Raúl Guimarães made a precise shot to the right of Tarcisio Gerber. EDI MZB's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Belmiro Sanches was the one to do the kick off. Evaristo Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Bueno in the 57th minute of play. Tarcisio Gerber was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Natã Rossi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Natã Rossi really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. EDI MZB's Tarcisio Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luiz Proença in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute Raúl Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcisio Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belmiro Sanches's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evaristo Siqueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. When André Luiz Proença fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Floripa Lions FSCMZ's protests and gave André Luiz Proença a yellow card for diving instead. Thomás Gaspar hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. EDI MZB made a substitution. Marcelinho Cabral replaced Telmo Bueno. Hélder Prestes hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Mathias Gaúcho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tarcisio Gerber was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Luciano Batista capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luciano Batista really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. Caio Sergipano lost his temper 86 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After a rather tough play, EDI MZB's Caio Sergipano got a free kick in the 87th minute. Hélder Prestes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tarcisio Gerber. EDI MZB's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 90 played minutes Floripa Lions FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Gaspar. After 91 played minutes, EDI MZB's Edi Souza shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Evaristo Siqueira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in EDI MZB reached it. Evaristo Siqueira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelinho Cabral went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-6 was the resulting score. In the 97th minute, Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Luciano Batista dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-7. When the final whistle sounded Floripa Lions FSCMZ left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than EDI MZB.
