Ladislao Mazurkiewicz started the match with the kick off. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Ladislao Mazurkiewicz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiaguinho Pirani. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz ran back to his position shaking his head. Tiaguinho Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Sanches in the 14th minute of play. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Komen Grama left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 26 minutes, Ladislao Mazurkiewicz made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. PATO BRANCO FC's Tiaguinho Pirani tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 32nd minute, Komen Grama made a precise shot to the right of Tiaguinho Pirani. Caxias do Sul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Komen Grama was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tiaguinho Pirani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ladislao Mazurkiewicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Luís Eduardo Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Tiaguinho Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Charles Sena was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes, Flávio Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul and the PATO BRANCO FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Flávio Fonseca hit a great ball. Hílton Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. The supporters of PATO BRANCO FC booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flávio Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rdth minute of the game Ladislao Mazurkiewicz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PATO BRANCO FC's Tiaguinho Pirani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Leopoldo Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiaguinho Pirani made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Leopoldo Sanches sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Mazurkiewicz in the 74th minute of play forced PATO BRANCO FC's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiaguinho Pirani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ladislao Mazurkiewicz went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Ladislao Mazurkiewicz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Tiaguinho Pirani skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, PATO BRANCO FC's Matheus Perez got a free kick in the 86th minute. With 91 minutes on the clock, Ricardinho Carvalho commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for PATO BRANCO FC! Tiaguinho Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Mazurkiewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over S.E.R. Caxias do Sul could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than PATO BRANCO FC throughout the match.
