The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Batista got free with Doni Seco in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 7 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Doni Seco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luciano Batista. Geovani Madureira hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Natã Rossi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Doni Seco. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Sydney Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Thomás Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Eger in the 15th minute of play forced Floripa Lions FSCMZ's goalkeeper Evaristo Siqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evaristo Siqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Eger in the 19th minute of the match. Evaristo Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior Alagoano in the 22nd minute of play. Doni Seco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luciano Batista in the 27th minute. With a little luck, Castanheiro SC's Doni Seco got control of the ball when André Luiz Proença tried to sneak it across the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Luisinho Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castanheiro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Floripa Lions FSCMZ the free kick. In the 36th minute, Luisinho Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 played minutes, Castanheiro SC's Marco Bezerra shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Evaristo Siqueira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Castanheiro SC reached it. If Marco Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evaristo Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Sarmento in the 42nd minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Evaristo Siqueira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Castanheiro SC's zone, André Luiz Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doni Seco came out of the goal and André Luiz Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 61st play minutes Júnior Alagoano shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Evaristo Siqueira and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 66th minute, Marcelo Eger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evaristo Siqueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 69 minutes into the match, Floripa Lions FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Sarmento came free, but Evaristo Siqueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Floripa Lions FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Floripa Lions FSCMZ's André Luiz Proença looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Evaristo Siqueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Evaristo Siqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Bezerra in the 80th minute of play. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Telmo da Fonseca scored to the left of an out of position Evaristo Siqueira, making the score, 2-4. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Evaristo Siqueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Floripa Lions FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. Evaristo Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Sarmento in the 87th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Mauro Sarmento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Evaristo Siqueira was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. In the 96thth minute of the game Júnior Alagoano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Evaristo Siqueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Castanheiro SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Castanheiro SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
