In the 2nd minute Michel Drogba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lauro Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After 8 minutes, Abelardo Sá made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. ADM Taquaras's Décio Marinho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. ADM Taquaras's Michel Drogba pulled a muscle in his leg after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Jaime Vides charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaime Vides the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. ADM Taquaras's Zé Augusto Romero was substituted for Michel Drogba. In the 20th match minute, Classe A Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Vides to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, ADM Taquaras's Reinaldo Ferraz got a free kick in the 24th minute. Décio Marinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugênio Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 26 played minutes Classe A Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Lima. After 27 played minutes, ADM Taquaras's Dito Donato shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Doriva Simão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ADM Taquaras reached it. Doriva Simão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Augusto Romero in the 30th minute. In the 35th minute of the match, Michel Shevchenko tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Doriva Simão saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 35 minutes into the match, Michel Shevchenko dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Doriva Simão, 1-2. In the 41st minute of the match, Zé Augusto Romero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Doriva Simão saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Classe A Futebol Clube's Doriva Simão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benê Carioca in the 43rd minute of play. After 44 minutes, Anísio Netto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Classe A Futebol Clube and the ADM Taquaras players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Classe A Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Anísio Netto hit a great ball. ADM Taquaras's Décio Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Sá in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Classe A Futebol Clube were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Zé Augusto Romero made the kick off in the second half. Michel Shevchenko hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. ADM Taquaras's Décio Marinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save ADM Taquaras from getting a goal against them. Décio Marinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kléber Pernambucano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Duarte was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 68 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute, Wilson Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 72 minutes into the match, Classe A Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Shevchenko came free, but Doriva Simão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute Lauro Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Décio Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Murillo Lima took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Décio Marinho. ADM Taquaras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. ADM Taquaras's Décio Marinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save ADM Taquaras from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michel Shevchenko in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Doriva Simão saved Classe A Futebol Clube from getting behind. Doriva Simão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michel Shevchenko in the 89th minute of the match. Doriva Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Augusto Romero in the 93rd minute of play. Reinaldo Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Doriva Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
