Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 2 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Sarmento came free, but Tarcisio Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 3 minutes, Marcelo Eger made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. EDI MZB's Tarcisio Gerber tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento got a free kick in the 5th minute. Doni Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tarcisio Gerber didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelo Eger went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. With his leg Doni Seco managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when EDI MZB's Evandro Maia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tarcisio Gerber came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento. But to his dismay, Mauro Sarmento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Ronaldo Pinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serafim Cearense's late challenge caught a EDI MZB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafim Cearense helped the player get up and apologised. Castanheiro SC's Doni Seco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Castanheiro SC from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute, EDI MZB's Tiago Machado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Doni Seco. Doni Seco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. EDI MZB's Edi Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. EDI MZB's Tarcisio Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Sarmento in the 35th minute of play. Castanheiro SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcelo Eger in the 36th minute. The corner led Castanheiro SC's Marcelo Eger to fire away a dangerous shot which Tarcisio Gerber despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 38 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Júnior Alagoano. In the 40th minute, Mauro Sarmento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Castanheiro SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. After a rather tough play, EDI MZB's Sidnei Fernandez got a free kick in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

The wind increased when Marcelo Eger made the kick off in the second half. Tarcisio Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Sarmento in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th match minute, EDI MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Sarmento came free, but Tarcisio Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aníbal Velasco hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Geovani Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th match minute, EDI MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fábio Alves to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Júnior Alagoano took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Tarcisio Gerber to make any attempt to save it. Ulisses Senna hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the EDI MZB defense, Júnior Alagoano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tarcisio Gerber. The EDI MZB fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tarcisio Gerber should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Castanheiro SC's zone, Edi Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doni Seco came out of the goal and Edi Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute of the match, Mauro Sarmento tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tarcisio Gerber saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 95 played minutes EDI MZB got a freekick which was hit by Edi Souza. Castanheiro SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
