Tiago Machado started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wiliam Viana. In the 5th minute, Wiliam Viana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vila Industrial FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 7th match minute, EDI MZB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edi Souza to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to EDI MZB getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Rubinho Costa hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Cavalcante. After a rather tough play, Vila Industrial FC's Luuk de Jong got a free kick in the 13th minute. Tiago Machado scored 1-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benê Simão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. EDI MZB's Tarcisio Gerber proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save EDI MZB from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute, David Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vila Industrial FC's Teodoro Pirani shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 32nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Tarcisio Gerber but with some difficulty. If Evandro Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarcisio Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Cavalcante in the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to EDI MZB getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Didi Mesquita hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Rafael Cavalcante took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Tarcisio Gerber to make any attempt to save it. Tarcisio Gerber made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wiliam Viana in the 42nd minute. Benê Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edi Souza in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Rafael Cavalcante made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Vila Industrial FC's Benê Simão got control of the ball when Evandro Maia tried to sneak it across the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Rafael Cavalcante cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Tarcisio Gerber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Edi Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edi Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Didi Mesquita during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
