Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Deportivo Cuenca booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Axel Tasis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Omar Galo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Lautaro Puig a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Galo came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute Omar Galo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Villarreal Melon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Mario Coca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Cuenca's supporters rose to their feet, but Mario Coca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The throw-in from Efrain Moruga in the 43rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Deportivo Cuenca's 吕傲德. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Villarreal Melon was the one to do the kick off. After 50 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. In the 51st minute, Omar Galo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Cuenca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After having played for 57 minutes, Ximeno Olmos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Cuenca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ximeno Olmos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Villarreal Melon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With his leg Heros Viana managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Costa Rica's Axel Tasis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 66th minute, Omar Galo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Cuenca's Mario Coca got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Axel Tasis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Heros Viana having to make a save. After 82 minutes of play, Deportivo Cuenca's Ximeno Olmos made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86th minute, Ximeno Olmos made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. A collision led to Deportivo Cuenca getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. 吕傲德 hit a great ball. 95 minutes into the game, Alan Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Cuenca the free kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Deportivo Cuenca's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
