Made in Paraguay's Jacob Sagasti was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nahia Gago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Made in Paraguay's Modesto Farto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 22nd minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Felix Luque hit a great ball. A hard shot by Jacob Sagasti from long distance, 25 minutes into the match, got Dante Lacasa's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Made in Paraguay's goalkeeper Modesto Farto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Modesto Farto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 30th minute of play forced Made in Paraguay's goalkeeper Modesto Farto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Modesto Farto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Modesto Farto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Modesto Farto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Modesto Farto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Severo Labora to make the kick off. When Evaristo Mendialdura fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Made in Paraguay's protests and gave Evaristo Mendialdura a yellow card for diving instead. Made in Paraguay's Modesto Farto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Made in Paraguay from getting a goal against them. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Modesto Farto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Modesto Farto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Joel Gaona showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 72 minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Modesto Farto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. In the 83rd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Mancebo to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Made in Paraguay defense, Facundo Cadaval kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Modesto Farto. The Made in Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Modesto Farto should have stopped the shot. Jacob Sagasti kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Joel Gaona sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Made in Paraguay's Modesto Farto didn't even have to move. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Modesto Farto made a huge save. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Made in Paraguay throughout the match.
