But to his dismay, Fivos Martinakis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Viviano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulino Mitxaut took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Smash FC's Paulino Mitxaut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fivos Martinakis in the 18th minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Anastasio Rosalio heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paulino Mitxaut breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Smash FC fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Smash FC's Qwinton Urtubia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 36th minute of the match, Fivos Martinakis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Venancio Felipillo was slow to take the kick. During this time Smash FC's players had a chance to rest. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Denis Viviano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Denis Viviano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Denis Viviano kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 51st minute Qwinton Urtubia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Viviano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 52nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. Smash FC's Paulino Mitxaut proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Smash FC from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Cedro in the 59th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Smash FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Paulino Mitxaut, making the score, 2-2. Smash FC's Paulino Mitxaut proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Smash FC from getting a goal against them. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Smash FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 89 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Qwinton Urtubia came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Smash FC's Rigoberto Celipe got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The supporters of Smash FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Qwinton Urtubia struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smash FC. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
