Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Zigmantas Gimbutas made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 3rd minute Quintino Carvalhais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lütfü Mürsel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lütfü Mürsel saved Fenerbahçe from getting behind. If Zigmantas Gimbutas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lütfü Mürsel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lütfü Mürsel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute SC Braga were awarded a corner. Quintino Carvalhais went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 13thth minute of the game Amado Parente who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fenerbahçe's Lütfü Mürsel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Zigmantas Gimbutas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute Metehan Aurelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laçın Cumayev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laçın Cumayev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Metehan Aurelio, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Lütfü Mürsel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 36th minute of play. A collision led to Fenerbahçe getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Yavuz Bülent Birge hit a great ball. Lütfü Mürsel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 39th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Fenerbahçe's Freddy Cordarrell slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Laçın Cumayev. That made the score 1-1 after 47 minutes of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Freddy Cordarrell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's Freddy Cordarrell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Laçın Cumayev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lütfü Mürsel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zigmantas Gimbutas's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Zigmantas Gimbutas put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Lütfü Mürsel. 61 minutes into the match, SC Braga's Stig-Åke Mattsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lütfü Mürsel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Stig-Åke Mattsson made a precise shot to the right of Lütfü Mürsel. Fenerbahçe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. If Antonio Cieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After having played for 66 minutes, Stig-Åke Mattsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Braga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stig-Åke Mattsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Antonio Cieri could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Lütfü Mürsel however easily saved by the left post. In the 74th match minute, SC Braga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geraldo Lucas to maneuver through the defense. Lütfü Mürsel came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Braga's Stig-Åke Mattsson. But to his dismay, Stig-Åke Mattsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Lütfü Mürsel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Alberto Malheiro. Lütfü Mürsel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 89th minute of play. In the last second Lütfü Mürsel throw himself and got hold of the ball when Stig-Åke Mattsson in the 95thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 96th minute of the match SC Braga got a corner. Fenerbahçe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lu Xun Lei ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Lu Xun Lei almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Fenerbahçe's Lütfü Mürsel did a great save.
