Iwo Sawicki scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaizka Mendieta in the 13th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Mina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tiger the free kick. In the 19th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pentti Ojala in the 20th minute. When Tiger's Iwo Sawicki in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Fatih Schwemer got a throw-in 44 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Christo Bothenhain. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pentti Ojala in the 51st minute of play. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josef Witlatschil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute. Venezuela's Joshua Secada was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Josef Witlatschil in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Tiger's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Josef Witlatschil in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tiger's Josef Witlatschil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Tiger from getting a goal against them. In the 60th minute, Thilo Heß made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thilo Heß went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 73 minutes, Christo Bothenhain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tiger's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christo Bothenhain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marten Weise in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Marten Weise cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pentti Ojala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Thilo Heß recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Américo Baehr's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. There was no doubt that Tiger were the better team. Tiger's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
