In the 4th minute, Narciso Negri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.C. Internacional RS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Narciso Negri sent off a good shot on target. 12 minutes into the match, S.C. Internacional RS's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Martino Pozuelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Isidoro Sarmiento hit a great ball. The supporters of Panama booed when S.C. Internacional RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brasil Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martino Pozuelos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Panama's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Dinei Gøl scored to the left of an out of position Marcos Cotilla, making the score, 3-0. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martino Pozuelos having to interfere. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Abraham Alguacil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martino Pozuelos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. S.C. Internacional RS's Martino Pozuelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 42nd minute of play. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinei Gøl in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Dario Palombi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla. Dario Palombi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brasil Brasil stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Negri in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Alex Cambeiro. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brasil Brasil in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martino Pozuelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Brasil Brasil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brasil Brasil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. When the match had been going on for 77 minutes, Panama's Abraham Alguacil got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Martino Pozuelos. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martino Pozuelos having to interfere. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinei Gøl, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. A collision led to S.C. Internacional RS getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. André Luiz Lara hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, S.C. Internacional RS's goalkeeper Martino Pozuelos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abraham Alguacil. Martino Pozuelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martino Pozuelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Martino Pozuelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. In the 98th minute Dinei Gøl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. S.C. Internacional RS were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Panama for a fine match.
