Arturo Ranolfo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Yaji FC's Justino Lehoi got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 24th minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Yao Guang Chao. Yaji FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arturo Ranolfo got free with Thiago Pliego in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yao Guang Chao having to make a save. Arturo Ranolfo might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Pliego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arturo Ranolfo ran back to his position shaking his head. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Arturo Ranolfo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. Chile's attentive Pedro Indiano managed to snatch the ball when Justino Lehoi made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. In the 55thth minute of the game Arturo Ranolfo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The corner led Yaji FC's Arturo Ranolfo to fire away a dangerous shot which Thiago Pliego despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
