In the 11th minute of the match Målilla got a corner. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Krister Hellkvist ran over to the corner to take the kick. Calistrat Şerbănescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 19 minutes, Damian Cârlan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damian Cârlan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute Damian Cârlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Wallin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kent Sandell during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Målilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kent Sandell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34thth minute of the game Damian Cârlan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Målilla's Joachim Wallin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 36 minutes of play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Damian Cârlan made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joachim Wallin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Calistrat Şerbănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Wallin having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Calistrat Şerbănescu in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joachim Wallin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Dennis Ekenberg's late challenge caught a PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dennis Ekenberg helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Målilla's Dennis Ekenberg got a free kick in the 56th minute. The audience was convinced that Calistrat Şerbănescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joachim Wallin was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Lucian Şimonca hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 75 played minutes Calistrat Şerbănescu rounded Målilla's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. Calistrat Şerbănescu struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Joachim Wallin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca. A collision led to PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Calistrat Şerbănescu hit a great ball. Joachim Wallin stood somewhat misplaced when Calistrat Şerbănescu came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 87 minute. In the 89th minute, Edvin Lindkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Målilla's Kent Sandell got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The Målilla fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
