PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Laércio Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Panno in the 10th minute of play. If Dave Panno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 20 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Tarcisio Luz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Magno Correia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dave Panno scored 1-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Laércio Trigo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Dave Panno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Laércio Trigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save PEÇONHENTO FC MG from getting a goal against them. Laércio Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dave Panno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dave Panno made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Panno came free, but Laércio Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laércio Trigo came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Mamutes EC's Dave Panno. The audience was convinced that Tarcisio Luz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Magno Correia was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. 93 minutes into the match, Valdo Dantas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Laércio Trigo. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valdo Dantas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Mamutes EC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
