Dida Taffarel came out of the goal and Hernan Lano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrián Espadas in the 11th minute of the match. Soroca F.C.'s Dan Wennerqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Soroca F.C. from getting a goal against them. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Lano, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 26th minute Soroca F.C. were awarded a corner. Gustavo Tartalo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Soroca F.C.'s Zézinho Neiva to fire away a dangerous shot which Dida Taffarel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Soroca F.C. got a corner. Marquês de Herval's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gustavo Tartalo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Marquês de Herval's goalie and right to Norberto Liberato. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Marquês de Herval's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Liberato in the 28th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Zézinho Neiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Dida Taffarel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Marquês de Herval booed when Soroca F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrián Espadas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrián Espadas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the game, Amador Venceslao cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Dida Taffarel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Nestor Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Wennerqvist having to interfere. Soroca F.C. made a substitution. Godofredo Quilino replaced Amador Venceslao. Soroca F.C.'s Răzvan Necula was substituted for Adrián Espadas. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Răzvan Necula in the 62nd minute of the match. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. If Răzvan Necula had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel got control of the ball when Răzvan Necula tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dan Wennerqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The supporters of Soroca F.C. booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moussa Kabre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Răzvan Necula in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 91 played minutes Soroca F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Iordanis Karatzaferis. A sloppy throw-in by Selami Rezan in the 95th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Soroca F.C.'s Zézinho Neiva. Răzvan Necula took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dida Taffarel. Dida Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. The Marquês de Herval supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Soroca F.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for Soroca F.C..
