When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Lesardo Alavedra sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lesardo Alavedra in the 10th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 minutes, Lesardo Alavedra made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the match, Deportivo Alavés's Lesardo Alavedra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lesardo Alavedra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Alavés's Lesardo Alavedra. But to his dismay, Lesardo Alavedra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 40 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lesardo Alavedra. In the 42nd minute Deportivo Alavés were awarded a corner. Sergi Gómez went to the cornerflag to take it. Vincent Solera made a great header on Deportivo Alavés's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. 42 minutes into the game, Vincent Solera lined in a short shot 5-0 behind a frustrated Jonathan Ferrant. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lesardo Alavedra made a kick off. Deportivo Alavés's Vincent Solera got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vincent Solera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Deportivo Alavés getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Vincent Solera hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd match minute, Deportivo Alavés was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Calderon to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Jose Correa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gustavo Calderon, made in the 66th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Solera in the 71st minute of play. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Deportivo Alavés's Plauto Bouzon was substituted for Wiggo Wipp. The supporters of Deportivo Alavés booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deportivo Alavés made a substitution. Alanzo Verdeja replaced Generoso Estrada. In the 78th minute, Joshua Secada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, Lesardo Alavedra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Lesardo Alavedra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Plauto Bouzon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deportivo Alavés's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
