Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Mier having to interfere. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Cássio Correia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute, Firman Urquizu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 minutes Sabaneta FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Luz Tejedor fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kevin Mier quite easily take care of the ball. Kevin Mier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Stanislaw Cempa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute of the match Sabaneta FC got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Osmundo Bolde ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Osmundo Bolde almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Peru's Rolando Noboa did a great save. 30 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sabaneta FC's Kevin Mier. Kevin Mier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kevin Mier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Julian Murillo was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The supporters of Peru booed when Sabaneta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanislaw Cempa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rian Giggs in the 38th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rian Giggs got free with Rolando Noboa in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Rian Giggs sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kevin Mier was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2.

The supporters of Peru booed when Sabaneta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julian Murillo didn't have the luck on his side when he, from a short distance, got a opportunity for a shot on goal in the 65th minute. The shot missed the goal on the right side and Julian Murillo ran dejectedly back to his position. In the 67th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Mier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 71st minute. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Julian Murillo put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Kevin Mier. A sloppy throw-in by Bonifaco Corrillos in the 75th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. The supporters of Peru booed when Sabaneta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Lawrence didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kevin Mier made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Rafael Gallo sent off a good shot on target. 88 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but Kevin Mier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute, Peru's Rafael Gallo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kevin Mier. Kevin Mier yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. After 93 minutes of play, Sabaneta FC's Petri Romuroso made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Peru players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
