Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Moises Fernandino started the match with the kick off. When Marco Tamayo fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Marco Tamayo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Marco Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Amor in the 8th minute of play. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Vinhas in the 10th minute. The supporters of Messi Dream Team booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Curbelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramon Amor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Amor in the 17th minute of play. Edmundo Vinhas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Ricardo Zorita 18 minutes into the match. A throw-in in the 21st minute of the game was made by Venancio Tohias with Ramon Amor as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 22nd minute, Messi Dream Team's Rodolfo Bastiaro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 27th minute, Marco Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, Ramon Amor dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ricardo Zorita, 3-0. The supporters of Messi Dream Team booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abram Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Amor, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 38th play minute Rodolfo Bastiaro came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ricardo Zorita. 5-0. The nice shot from Edmundo Vinhas in the 41stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Ricardo Zorita had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. When Edmundo Vinhas came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Messi Dream Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Vinhas couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Vinhas to make the kick off. Edmundo Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. After 55 minutes of play, Messi Dream Team's Ramon Amor made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! Messi Dream Team were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after El Salvador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ramon Amor took the corner. Messi Dream Team's Edmundo Vinhas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ricardo Zorita in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramon Amor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute, Edmundo Vinhas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Messi Dream Team's Ramon Amor. But to his dismay, Ramon Amor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Marco Tamayo got a free kick in the 85th minute. 95 minutes into the game, Valentino Ferrant was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Messi Dream Team the free kick. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Valentino Ferrant hit a great ball. Messi Dream Team walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
