With a little luck, San Lorenzo's Matias Carlomagno got control of the ball when Thomas Vollmar tried to sneak it across the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Matias Carlomagno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adam Pacholewski. If Severo Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kara Melo in the 19th minute of the match. Adam Pacholewski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Matias Carlomagno made a huge save. In the 30th minute Kajetan Kochniarczyk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Carlomagno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mikolaj Jerzyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kara Melo in the 32nd minute of play. Kajetan Kochniarczyk charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kajetan Kochniarczyk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mo Yi Sang in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mikolaj Jerzyk saved Newcastle United from getting behind. Pankracy Malicki's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Matias Carlomagno firmly grabbed it by the left post. Mo Yi Sang took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mikolaj Jerzyk. Mikolaj Jerzyk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 47th minute Mo Yi Sang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikolaj Jerzyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half San Lorenzo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thomas Vollmar to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Doni Arce sped through Newcastle United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mikolaj Jerzyk. Matias Carlomagno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Pacholewski in the 60th minute of play. Matias Carlomagno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adam Pacholewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, San Lorenzo's Mikolaj Jerzyk threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kara Melo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 71 minutes of play, Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Matias Carlomagno was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 81st minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Matias Carlomagno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute Newcastle United were awarded a corner. Zé Paulo Zonta went to the cornerflag to take it. 88 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's Doni Arce sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mikolaj Jerzyk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ke Lin Mo kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
