Jaime Carioca was slow to take the kick. During this time Emerald's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Emerald's Jaime Carioca to fire away a dangerous shot which Victor Linares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 9 minutes of play, Emerald's Victor Piţurcă made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victor Linares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Agne Algren charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Victor Piţurcă might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victor Linares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Piţurcă ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40th minute of the game Agne Algren made a throw-in which Christoffer Fridlund played forward. Hurşit Cemşit's late challenge caught a Neuros och Psykos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hurşit Cemşit helped the player get up and apologised. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Ferdinand Condrea came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Emerald fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdinand Condrea couldn't finish the play. In the 53rd minute Victor Piţurcă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
