When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Emiliano Caiola took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Pankracy Glogowski to make any attempt to save it. Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan de Vlieger in the 16th minute of play. The referee ignored Club Atlético Atlanta's protests and gave Eustaquio Jaizki a yellow card for diving instead. Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Atlanta from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Zebastian Bergfeldt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pankracy Glogowski. That made the score 2-0 in the 24 minute of play. Pankracy Glogowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt Petersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Atlético Atlanta's Mugur Chiriac got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Mugur Chiriac managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters rose to their feet, but Mugur Chiriac was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ralph Roeles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Julias Rascals Apeldoorn booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 77th minute Club Atlético Atlanta were awarded a corner. Emil Chwalkiewicz went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Emil Chwalkiewicz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ralph Roeles quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Bengt Petersson came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Julias Rascals Apeldoorn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bengt Petersson couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabio Artaldo during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game.
