After 32 played minutes Colognese FC got a freekick which was hit by Geovanni Leme. After having played for 36 minutes, Edgard Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colognese FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Batista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. August Hoffmanns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgard Batista in the 37th minute. With his leg August Hoffmanns managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Colognese FC's Edgard Batista fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 44 minutes into the game, Mesut Özil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rot-Weiss-Essen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Colognese FC the free kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Anestis Kotsopoulos got a free kick in the 51st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Octavian Basten during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Octavian Basten. After 54 minutes of play, Colognese FC's Edgard Batista made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. August Hoffmanns was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edgard Batista took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised August Hoffmanns. August Hoffmanns dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Alfredinho Carneiro was a little too slow when Hugo Haupt got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 4-1. In the last second Alfredinho Carneiro throw himself and got hold of the ball when Octavian Basten in the 78thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After 79 minutes Colognese FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Maximilian Henning who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Anestis Kotsopoulos managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Batista in the 81st minute of play. August Hoffmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Santos in the 96th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Colognese FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
