Zielonka Gdansk's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iacob Vernescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Iacob Vernescu took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jan Tomaszewski. Zielonka Gdansk's Jan Tomaszewski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Zielonka Gdansk from getting a goal against them. Zygmunt Koprowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leszek Falke, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Iacob Vernescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan Tomaszewski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Leszek Falke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zygmunt Koprowski having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mădălin Penciulescu during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Zielonka Gdansk booed when BVB 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mădălin Penciulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to BVB 09 getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Lucjan Drugi hit a great ball. Zygmunt Koprowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leszek Falke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Octavian Caragea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Gottfrid Asklöv managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zielonka Gdansk's supporters rose to their feet, but Gottfrid Asklöv was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zygmunt Koprowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zielonka Gdansk's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
