The NIKE Academy fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when NIKE Academy's Kader Gonet looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fischverband Ostschweiz's Grayson Gruenigen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kader Gonet in the 44th minute of play. If Radomil Ligas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Fischverband Ostschweiz players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. NIKE Academy were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kader Gonet to make the kick off.
