Işık Korhan kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mbaka Mbolu in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wasyl Modrzewski saved Pirates of Black Sea from getting behind. When Mbaka Mbolu, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 10 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Wasyl Modrzewski was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 15th minute of the match, Aykut Nadi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wasyl Modrzewski was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. KOCAELİSPOR's Ahmet Orhan Bakırcı was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wasyl Modrzewski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A throw-in in the 19th minute of the game was made by Taribo West with Işık Korhan as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 24 played minutes Pirates of Black Sea got a freekick which was hit by Taribo West. In the 25th minute, Taribo West hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A sloppy throw-in by Jens-Åke Utfal in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by KOCAELİSPOR's Ahmet Orhan Bakırcı. Mbaka Mbolu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wasyl Modrzewski having to make a save. Wasyl Modrzewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mbaka Mbolu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind KOCAELİSPOR's goalkeeper Şemsettin Tuyuğ, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dong Xi Jun in the 43rd minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Aykut Nadi in the 52nd minute of play forced Pirates of Black Sea's goalkeeper Wasyl Modrzewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Pirates of Black Sea getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ahmet Rıfat Reşat hit a great ball. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pirates of Black Sea's goalkeeper Wasyl Modrzewski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute of the match KOCAELİSPOR got a corner. Pirates of Black Sea's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ahmet Orhan Bakırcı ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience was convinced that Mbaka Mbolu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wasyl Modrzewski was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Tommy Dowrick sped through KOCAELİSPOR's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Şemsettin Tuyuğ. An unexpectedly hard shot by Refugio Pagan in the 81st minute of play forced Pirates of Black Sea's goalkeeper Wasyl Modrzewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wasyl Modrzewski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Refugio Pagan's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After taking down the ball on KOCAELİSPOR's corner Claudio Delgadillo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wasyl Modrzewski quite easily take care of the ball. 95 minutes into the game, KOCAELİSPOR's Refugio Pagan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wasyl Modrzewski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Pirates of Black Sea had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
