The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Acun Seyhun in the 7th minute of the match. In the 10th minute Fiori Britto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şensoy Turcan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Naim Süleymanoğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Şensoy Turcan was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 16 minutes into the match, KOCAELİSPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Acun Seyhun came free, but Şemsettin Tuyuğ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 played minutes Tömük33 got a freekick which was hit by Yavuzalp İnanç. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Zülfü Özekan took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Şemsettin Tuyuğ to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 33 minutes, Ediz Tekdoğan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KOCAELİSPOR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ediz Tekdoğan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 34 minutes in the game Tolgahan Saltık did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Bülent Çevikcan. Şensoy Turcan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naim Süleymanoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Naim Süleymanoğlu put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Şensoy Turcan. Tolgahan Saltık hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Tömük33's Şensoy Turcan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naim Süleymanoğlu in the 43rd minute of play. After 45 played minutes Tömük33 got a freekick which was hit by Bülent Çevikcan. Necmi Ulusoy's late challenge caught a KOCAELİSPOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Necmi Ulusoy helped the player get up and apologised. Necmi Ulusoy hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zülfü Özekan to strike the kick off in the second half. Ye Chuan Chen got in the 59th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Şensoy Turcan handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. KOCAELİSPOR's Ye Chuan Chen was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 59th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Naim Süleymanoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Seyfullah Tuğsavan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şensoy Turcan having to interfere. KOCAELİSPOR's Robert Percha was substituted for Naim Süleymanoğlu. KOCAELİSPOR's Boğaçhan Tanır was substituted for Hami Şahistan. In the 71st minute, Ferhan Gence hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Şensoy Turcan came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by KOCAELİSPOR's Robert Percha. But to his dismay, Robert Percha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3.
