CRUZ DEL SUR's Zachariasz Dudkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 4th minute of play. A collision led to CRUZ DEL SUR getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Fan Yong Zhan hit a great ball. In the 20th minute of the game Arturo Vidal made a throw-in which Abundio Manzano played forward. 21 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artaç Yavuzalp. Fan Yong Zhan kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Zachariasz Dudkowski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 28 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zachariasz Dudkowski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Artaç Yavuzalp, made in the 33rd minute of the game. 34 minutes into the match, CRUZ DEL SUR's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Zachariasz Dudkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Abundio Manzano could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Rolando Noboa however easily saved by the left post. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute of the match, Ronnie Odell tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rolando Noboa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eustacio Antonucci in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eustacio Antonucci to make the kick off. The supporters of CRUZ DEL SUR booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 79th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Prats to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Estefan, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zachariasz Dudkowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play.
