Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edmundo Espiga started the match with the kick off. In the 7thth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Çanakkale's Ferdi Kargin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Cristian Boniel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Lautaro Navarro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Honduras fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Honduras's Edmundo Espiga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ferdi Kargin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Çanakkale's Cristian Boniel in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Honduras's goalie prevented a goal. Ferdi Kargin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 25th minute of play. Edmundo Espiga scored 1-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ferdi Kargin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 32nd minute, Çanakkale's Salih Kaveloğlu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Salih Kaveloğlu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Çanakkale protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Salih Kaveloğlu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 32nd minute, Salih Kaveloğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Mansur Başel tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ivan Navarro fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Ivan Navarro a yellow card for diving instead. 43 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ferdi Kargin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Honduras booed when Çanakkale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sedat Özender didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Honduras were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John Apelkvist to strike the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Boniel in the 54th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a free kick in the 56th minute. Alican Kutlar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Çanakkale's Ferdi Kargin got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alican Kutlar in the 65th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of Çanakkale:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Honduras:s goal. After having played for 77 minutes, Mansur Başel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Çanakkale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mansur Başel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferdi Kargin saved Çanakkale from getting behind. 82 minutes into the match, John Apelkvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John Apelkvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. In the 87th minute Alican Kutlar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 played minutes Çanakkale got a freekick which was hit by Osman Ali Ayçetin. Honduras's Valentín Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sedat Özender, made in the 97th minute of the game.
