The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Olympiacos FC's Takis Nestoriou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yoachim Hauwaerts in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute, Bryan Van Deuren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dimitris Koudas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Takis Nestoriou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yoachim Hauwaerts in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Suikerklontjes's zone, Panos Papathomas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sammy Godts came out of the goal and Panos Papathomas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Takis Nestoriou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yoachim Hauwaerts in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Olympiacos FC's Markos Kareklopoulos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Suikerklontjes's goalkeeper Sammy Godts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, Bryan Van Deuren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Yoachim Hauwaerts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Takis Nestoriou was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. A collision led to Olympiacos FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Avraam Chalkias hit a great ball. After 31 played minutes Olympiacos FC got a freekick which was hit by Panos Loukas. Herald Van de Goor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Takis Nestoriou having to make a save. Takis Nestoriou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bart Van de Velde in the 34th minute of the match. After 37 minutes Suikerklontjes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Markos Kareklopoulos who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Markos Kareklopoulos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sammy Godts quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Takis Nestoriou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bart Van de Velde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Takis Nestoriou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yoachim Hauwaerts in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dimitris Koudas was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Olympiacos FC booed when Suikerklontjes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herald Van de Goor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olympiacos FC made a substitution. Kostas Tziolas replaced Alexis Dellios. A collision led to Suikerklontjes getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Herald Van de Goor hit a great ball. After 70 minutes of play, Suikerklontjes's Bart Van de Velde made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Takis Nestoriou was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 73 played minutes Suikerklontjes got a freekick which was hit by Matias Gilis. Suikerklontjes's Sammy Godts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Suikerklontjes from getting a goal against them. Thanos Panagiotatos kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After 81 minutes of play, Suikerklontjes's Bart Van de Velde made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Takis Nestoriou was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Olympiacos FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Avraam Chalkias hit a great ball. In the 85th minute, Panos Loukas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 86 minutes, Herald Van de Goor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Suikerklontjes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herald Van de Goor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fanis Schinas hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Yoachim Hauwaerts scored 3-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Takis Nestoriou, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Olympiacos FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Suikerklontjes.
