Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartosz Erland in the 4th minute of play. Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 6th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartosz Erland, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Çağdaş Yuvakuran hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Ovidiu Adrian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiger De Hond's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Adrian having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Horst-Peter Unterberger, 24 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 25th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ovidiu Adrian was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 29th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Çağdaş Yuvakuran kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Ovidiu Adrian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Adrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidiu Adrian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 42nd minute of the match. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Antonio Arias was in a good position and ended up with the ball after Ecuador's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 46th match minute, Poli Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiger De Hond to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mauro Primeiro was the one to do the kick off. Çağdaş Yuvakuran hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Ovidiu Adrian to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 57th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Primeiro in the 58th minute of the match. Bartosz Erland took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Ovidiu Adrian in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ovidiu Adrian made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mauro Primeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd match minute, Poli Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilhelm Larsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ovidiu Adrian showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Primeiro in the 85th minute of play. In the 88th minute Adib Ovi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Poli Timisoara's Adib Ovi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
