In the 10th minute Real Chelsea were awarded a corner. Patrick Panther went to the cornerflag to take it. Real Chelsea's Patrick Panther was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Gus Weir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Real Chelsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uno Klemensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gus Weir. Comunardo Prandini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrick Panther kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comunardo Prandini having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Real Chelsea's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kelvin Oldham, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Real Chelsea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gus Weir scored 1-0 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. From close distance Gus Weir pressed in the 2-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 36 minutes into the game. In the 43rd minute, Patricio Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gus Weir to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Comunardo Prandini when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gus Weir in the 56th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 58th minute of play forced Real Chelsea's goalkeeper Comunardo Prandini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Comunardo Prandini quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Real Chelsea booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Real Chelsea's Stu Bullock got a free kick in the 69th minute. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Comunardo Prandini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Real Chelsea made a substitution. Marty Harland replaced Patrick Panther. Tyler Tolley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Comunardo Prandini. Real Chelsea's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Real Chelsea made a substitution. Barney Yeo replaced Malcolm Adcock. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timothy Thorne in the 88th minute of the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Real Chelsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uno Klemensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Real Chelsea.
