Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) USA's Cassius Byrne started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Cassius Byrne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Cassius Byrne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andriy Lunin was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Andriy Lunin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Cassius Byrne took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andriy Lunin. Andriy Lunin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Nisar Burkart came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nisar Burkart couldn't finish the play. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Andriy Lunin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 24th minute of play. Henning Fink hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cassius Byrne in the 31st minute. A nice corner shot did that Cassius Byrne got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Andriy Lunin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cassius Byrne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andriy Lunin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 36th minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ödön Szily charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ödön Szily the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ödön Szily hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Niculae Ungureanu was substituted for Ödön Szily. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 44th minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andriy Lunin came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by USA's Cassius Byrne. But to his dismay, Cassius Byrne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niculae Ungureanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andriy Lunin made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Cassius Byrne sent off a good shot on target. The referee felt a red card was in order, 58 minutes into the game, when Henning Fink put in a rough tackle. When the match had been going on for 59 minutes, USA's Cassius Byrne got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Andriy Lunin. Andriy Lunin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andriy Lunin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After 86 minutes, Monty Rogers made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Andriy Lunin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 90th match minute, USA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zach Harrison to maneuver through the defense. David Elodio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andriy Lunin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Khalid Parry, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched USA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
