The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. William Rigg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emmanuel Canturri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Nick Heesen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ágætis Byrjun fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Manwë Vala kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, The Valar's Alfred Hajto got a free kick in the 19th minute. Emmanuel Canturri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manolo Bartumeu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for The Valar! The Valar:s Emmanuel Canturri showed great skill when he stopped Ladislao Cordarius:s penalty. The Valar's Emmanuel Canturri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manolo Bartumeu in the 37th minute of play. Emmanuel Canturri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joep Ponk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emmanuel Canturri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joep Ponk in the 42nd minute of play. After 45 played minutes Ágætis Byrjun got a freekick which was hit by Vitaliy Vorobey. In the 46th minute, Manwë Vala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joep Ponk made a kick off. Manolo Bartumeu made in the 54th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ernst Melis immediately put the ball in play. Emmanuel Canturri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manolo Bartumeu in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute Nick Heesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emmanuel Canturri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd match minute, The Valar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulmo Vala to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, The Valar's Emmanuel Canturri got control of the ball when Nick Heesen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vitaliy Vorobey charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vitaliy Vorobey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of The Valar booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitaliy Vorobey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emmanuel Canturri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joep Ponk, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute, Manolo Bartumeu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Emmanuel Canturri. The goal made the score 0-2. With a little luck, The Valar's Emmanuel Canturri got control of the ball when Nick Heesen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manwë Vala charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manwë Vala the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nick Heesen got free with Emmanuel Canturri in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emmanuel Canturri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joep Ponk in the 86th minute. In the 91st minute, Joep Ponk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Valar's Emmanuel Canturri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save The Valar from getting a goal against them.

The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ágætis Byrjun eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
