After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serafim Eanes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Serafim Eanes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Serafim Eanes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Milagros Fraga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Anthony Alvarado hit a great ball. When Florencio Chano came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Dionisia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florencio Chano couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Dionisia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Xacintu to maneuver through the defense. In the 52nd minute, Peru's Julian Murillo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Serafim Eanes. Serafim Eanes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Serafim Eanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milagros Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Serafim Eanes was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Dionisia's Lucio Garoa got a free kick in the 74th minute. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Dionisia's Peng Sha Yang. But to his dismay, Peng Sha Yang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 80th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafim Eanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Dionisia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Eliseo Mina struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Serafim Eanes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. After 91 minutes of play, Peru's Antonio Tenorio made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Serafim Eanes was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafael Gallo in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serafim Eanes saved Dionisia from getting behind.
