The throw-in from 贺平政 in the 18th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Alex Chicote. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Mariano during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dries De Hondt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Felice Aceto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felice Aceto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. A nice corner shot did that Salvador Gisbert got away a dangerous shot. Despite this 陈博昆 quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 81st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but 陈博昆 made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felice Aceto in the 85th minute of the match. 陈博昆 made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 89thth minute of the game Dries De Hondt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
