Mario Maznev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Ramón Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 6th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Kale SK's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Yağız Tekdoğan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ramón Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 10th minute of the match. Kjell Ålberg kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 15th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramón Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramón Rocha having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ramón Rocha saved Kale SK from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Zembrzuski in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Kale SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjell Ålberg to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Marian Zembrzuski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Marian Zembrzuski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Ramón Rocha. Kale SK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 33rd minute, Mario Maznev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Marian Zembrzuski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Marian Zembrzuski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 40th minute. When Yağız Tekdoğan came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Kale SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yağız Tekdoğan couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yağız Tekdoğan in the 43rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramón Rocha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 54th minute of the match, Tomas Illescas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ramón Rocha was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Salvador Gisbert made in the 55th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Kale SK's Kjell Ålberg. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramón Rocha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yağız Tekdoğan during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yağız Tekdoğan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 played minutes Kale SK got a freekick which was hit by Kjell Ålberg. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mario Maznev's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. The corner ended in Yağız Tekdoğan almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Ramón Rocha in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gaos during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
