U21 Poland's Er Håland started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Pelle Flinck came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the U21 Sweden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pelle Flinck couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the game, Karl-Henry Roos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Sweden's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Poland the free kick. A collision led to U21 Sweden getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. U21 Sweden's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Er Håland was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Tanek Wojtyna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pelle Flinck went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. U21 Poland's Stanislaw Maziarski was substituted for Kala Mala. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pelle Flinck to make the kick off. U21 Poland's Tanek Wojtyna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiktor Kjellqvist in the 52nd minute of play. U21 Sweden made a substitution. Chatziantoniou Anagnostopoulos replaced Pelle Flinck. An unexpectedly hard shot by Er Håland in the 62nd minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Sixten Nordström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
