An unexpectedly hard shot by Kemalettin Torhan in the 13th minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Denis Paulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clapham Comets F.C. were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Defensores de Lombroso's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ulysses Madureira took the corner. Denis Paulin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulysses Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brendon Bale in the 21st minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Denis Paulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Lionel-Andrés Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lee Kerr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Paulin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 36 played minutes Clapham Comets F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Kemalettin Torhan. Clapham Comets F.C.'s Lee Kerr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uriel Ferrer in the 40th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Juan Simon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Denis Paulin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulysses Madureira to strike the kick off in the second half. Lee Kerr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Riquelme in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kemalettin Torhan in the 57th minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Denis Paulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Defensores de Lombroso made a substitution. Ovidio Jokin replaced Lucio Cordarrol. Defensores de Lombroso's Alan Varela was substituted for Roman Riquelme. Clapham Comets F.C. were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Defensores de Lombroso's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ulysses Madureira took the corner. Jonathan Willetts was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Clapham Comets F.C.'s Lee Kerr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uriel Ferrer in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Amadeo Raebert made a precise shot to the right of Lee Kerr. Clapham Comets F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. Aaron Rambo might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denis Paulin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Denis Paulin was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Kemalettin Torhan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kemalettin Torhan really showed his touch with that goal: 3-4.

After the break the players went out on the field to play the first half of overtime with revived energy in their legs. Defensores de Lombroso's Uriel Ferrer started the play with the initial kick off. 104 minutes into the game, Defensores de Lombroso's Lionel-Andrés Messi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lee Kerr made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-4. Defensores de Lombroso's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
