Momčilo Janič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serter Usal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Benito Sanz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 17thth minute of the game Axel Tasis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Marino İdman Yurdu's Ahmet Necdet Secavend was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The San Marino İdman Yurdu fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when San Marino İdman Yurdu's Serter Usal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 29th minute of the match, Serter Usal got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benito Sanz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Serter Usal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Serter Usal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 38 minute of play. Serter Usal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Momčilo Janič was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Momčilo Janič in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 60th minute Keramettin İshak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Momčilo Janič in the 68th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Keramettin İshak notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 77 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Momčilo Janič came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lisandro Rojas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Momčilo Janič scored 7-0 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 90th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serter Usal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 94 minutes of play, San Marino İdman Yurdu's Serter Usal made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. San Marino İdman Yurdu fully deserved thier win.
