Saturnino Romo started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s goal looked a bit too open when Filomeno Mendebal came free, but Silvano Portillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Saturnino Romo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 6 minutes into the match, Los Materos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Romo came free, but Lazaros Kabantais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saturnino Romo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute Los Materos FC were awarded a corner. Horacio Abajas went to the cornerflag to take it. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Mats Liljeström managed to get in a good position for a shot. ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s supporters rose to their feet, but Mats Liljeström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lazaros Kabantais breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Los Materos FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Mariano Ugaitz hit a great ball. ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Silvano Portillo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ from getting a goal against them. In the 37th minute Filomeno Mendebal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvano Portillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Silvano Portillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horacio Abajas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filomeno Mendebal in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvano Portillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Saturnino Romo sped through Los Materos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lazaros Kabantais. Los Materos FC's Tincho Palermo was substituted for Filomeno Mendebal. ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ made a substitution. Ezequiel Lavezzi replaced Mats Liljeström. Eleuterio Rufio struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Silvano Portillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Materos FC. In the 70thth minute of the game Tincho Palermo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Silvano Portillo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Igor Salvidor kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Jerzy Marchefka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lazaros Kabantais narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Jerzy Marchefka kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lazaros Kabantais. That made the score 1-3 in the 77 minute of play. Lazaros Kabantais stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jerzy Marchefka's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, Aaron Molina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Materos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. In the 92nd minute, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s Jerzy Marchefka dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. The ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
