With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eulalio Francesco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 21st match minute, River tu grato nombre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Presley to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rdth minute of the game Maximiliano Escribano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River tu grato nombre's Eulalio Francesco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When John Presley fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River tu grato nombre's protests and gave John Presley a yellow card for diving instead. John Presley hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Jaime Cazalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Eulalio Francesco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. 33 minutes into the game, Stacey Banning recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joaquin Gayoso.
