The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 8th minute of play forced INTER FC's goalkeeper Basílio Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Maranhense having to interfere. After some careless play in the INTER FC defense, Isidoro Sarmiento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basílio Maranhense. The INTER FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basílio Maranhense should have stopped the shot. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Renato Berger in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 played minutes INTER FC got a freekick which was hit by Silas Romero. Basílio Maranhense didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Panama's Tomas Berganza shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Tomas Berganza might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basílio Maranhense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Paulo Renato Berger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The INTER FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. Abraham Alguacil struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Basílio Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Humberto Secco during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isidoro Sarmiento couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Panama booed when INTER FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrianinho Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. INTER FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Tomas Berganza scored to the left of an out of position Basílio Maranhense, making the score, 1-9. Basílio Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basílio Maranhense came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Alex Cambeiro. But to his dismay, Alex Cambeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-11. After a rather tough play, Panama's Aaron Barrios got a free kick in the 95th minute. 95 minutes into the match, INTER FC's Natanael de Moraes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Aaron Barrios hit a great ball. Panama's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
